What do you look forward to at the Science Fair?
Making a project for the Science Fair is only half the story. The rest of the fun is in attending the fair and getting to play with so many different, cool experiments. The whole hall is full of stuff that you can try out.
I always prefer projects that involve the user more than the ones that just sit there. It is so exciting to see them respond to your actions. I feel that the Science Fair is sort of like a candy store for the mind.
To the inquisitive mind the whole scene is an exciting distraction from the daily routine at school. There is so much to see and learn. There is the competition to look forward to and the honor of winning a prize as well.
Of all the different concepts that involve the interaction of the user, I prefer the projects that make use of electricity. Even if it is just static electricity. Remember the way the charged comb would attract bits of silk thread?
Are you fascinated with electricity? There is an interesting experiment that allows you to make your own electroscope. You can use this gadget to test the electric charge contained in objects. What can these objects be? Anything from a paper, a piece of cloth, a string, a tissue paper, a silk scarf, in fact anything that you can find lying around.
It would make a fun project at the Science Fair. Since it would allow every person who came to see it some interactive action. Much better than just looking at some boring old charts with data on them.
